The original settlement arose by a glasshouse established by Prince Schwarzenberg in 1834 and named for Princess Eleonora. The glasshouse produced crystal glass that ranked among the best in Europe. In the centre of the village is a bread oven dating from 19th century. Another Technical Monument is a 19th century covered bridge used for rafting timber.
